My third album, ‟Magic Cardboard Ride” continues with the inventive, lyric-focused songwriting of its predecessors. Thematically though it moves beyond the tight focus on what my own kids are doing to explore a broader range of topics. In a way, it feels like the growth of my songwriting has mirrored my own kids’ growth. The world has become larger for them and for me as a songwriter. And that’s been fun.

Songs of a Baby’s First Year
“Funny Little Fella” is a series of vignettes-a keepsake album of my son Rowan’s first year. The songs on the album are personal. I wrote them for and about the children in my life. The themes, though, are universal. The album’s organizing principle is a baby’s development, which will resonate, I hope, with any new or expecting parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, even sister or brother (it makes a great baby shower gift!)
